Samphy

Samphy is an urban dwelling trader. Her clan may well have inspired the UK series The Wombles – those furry creatures who aimed to help the environment by collecting and recycling rubbish in creative ways. Urban Leywalkers trade in the objects which humans choose to throw away. They live in the liminal interspaces of busy places and have prospered as cities and towns have grown and we have become a ‘throwaway’ society. Samphy is a relatively young Leywalker, but living in the busy and polluted city has taken its toil on her health. She wishes to retire to a home which is full of life but is a tad quieter than she has been used to. She is an excellent house guest but you will have to get used to her finding new ways to use old objects. Her hobbies are mixed media sculpting, playing the recorder and growing plants from seeds she finds on her meanderings. Her favourite food is pizza.
