Kagami (meaning: ‘mirror’) was named by a Japanese friend of mine. He found her clutched in the hands of a young girl admitted for psychological evaluation at the clinic he works at. The patient had gradually declined in health, believing she was being watched by giant moths who spoke to her in Norwegian. I recognised the symbol on Kagami’s skirt as a Nordic sigil to promote madness. The mirror on the back of her head enhanced the madness, continually reflecting it back to the girl. She wouldn’t say where she had come across the doll but since being separated from it her condition has improved. I have ‘de-activated’ the sigil and intent of this poppet and believe that Kagami is now safe to find her forever home. She has been as mistreated as the girl for whom she was originally intended.
